Project Scope
The renovation project for Fred Beans Nissan of Doylestown involved a comprehensive overhaul of both the exterior and interior of the dealership.
Exterior:
The scope included the demolition of existing ACM panels and the installation of a new Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS), a modern stucco alternative, along with new ACM paneling. The project also encompassed small exterior lighting replacements to enhance visibility and aesthetics. This extensive exterior work aimed to refresh the dealership’s appearance, aligning it with contemporary design standards while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance.
Interior:
Inside, our renovation involved removing old ceiling tiles, lighting, and carpet, followed by the installation of new ceiling tiles, lighting fixtures, and carpet in the customer lounge and office areas. Additional updates included patching and painting, the installation of new display screens for showcasing models and promotions, and upgrading bathroom stalls and fixtures. Coordination with the furniture vendor for new owner-purchased furniture was also part of the scope, ensuring a cohesive and modernized interior environment.
Challenges
To ensure minimal disruption during the project, we effectively phased the work and maintained regular communication with the General Manager and dealership staff. This coordination included managing the temporary relocation of staff and workspaces to keep operations running smoothly.
In managing the signage installation, we oversaw the placement of new Nissan signage fabricated and installed by a third party. We addressed and corrected mistakes made by the signage company to ensure proper electrical connections and client satisfaction.
We also tackled the issue of visible holes left by old bathroom fixtures by researching and installing new fixtures that effectively covered these gaps. Additionally, we corrected wiring issues with the power whip for office cubicles, which had been improperly installed by another team, ensuring that both power and data connections were fully functional.
