The Faulkner Mercedes-Benz of Doylestown renovation project focused on transforming the luxury car dealership into a modern, high-end facility that aligns with Mercedes-Benz's updated brand standards. This comprehensive car dealership renovation involved updating the interior designs of the showroom and service areas, as well as the addition of a new car delivery area.
Beginning with initial demolition work in December 2022, the bulk of the project spanning from April to August 2023, this renovation project required meticulous planning and project phasing to allow continuous operation of the dealership throughout construction. Thanks to outstanding relationships forged during projects at Faulkner Mazda and Faulkner Volvo, our team already had a great understanding of how the Faulkner Dealership Family operates, and how to best serve them.
The renovation encompassed a complete interior reskin of approximately 10,000 square feet to fit new, contemporary brand standards for all Mercedes-Benz dealerships. Key aspects included removing outdated floor finishes, lighting, and millwork in the showroom and service areas to make room for a new look.
Aesthetic improvements include the installation of new millwork and wallpaper, as well as a fresh coat of paint on all other interior walls. To boost sustainability at Mercedes-Benz of Doylestown, the Souder Brothers Construction team installed new floor electric systems to charge electric vehicles and energy-efficient LED lighting.
Additionally, the project featured the construction of a new car delivery area, which involved framing, drywall work, and the installation of three new overhead garage doors.
While the Souder Brothers Construction team is exceptionally experienced with car dealership renovation projects and challenges are few and far between, the renovation of Mercedes-Benz of Doylestown offered our team several opportunities to think creatively.
First and foremost, the team had to rely on a history of successful construction phasing to ensure the dealership could remain operational throughout the project. Safety and staff comfort were top of mind while demolishing existing floor tiles, which causes excessive dust, and throughout the lighting installation.
Another challenge was the need to install new electric boxes in the existing heated floor. With floor heating provided by a series of underground tubes that fill with warm water, the team could not risk damaging a single element.
Finally, the Mercedes-Benz brand standards are unique and feature striking colors in their design. In the case of HVAC grills, some of these colors are simply not available without customization. The Souder Brothers Construction team made great efforts to ensure a consistent visual experience in the showroom including custom color matching for HVAC grills and other finishes.
