When new prospective clients come to us many of them have similar questions in regard to their construction projects, whether residential construction or commercial construction. We’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions to help you get a better idea of the construction process as a whole.
1. Do you charge for estimates?
We do not charge for our initial estimates. We are happy to meet with you to review the project and give you a detailed proposal outlining what is included in the scope of work for the price quoted. It’s important for us to find out as many details as possible about the project in order to give you an accurate price.
2. How long will my project take?
Each construction project is very unique and the duration will depend on many factors such as the size and scope of the job. Before construction starts we will put together a construction schedule detailing out each step of the project so you can keep track of how things should be progressing. A construction schedule is immensely important for all parties involved to make sure the project stays on track. (insert sample schedule document)
3. What is the payment process?
We typically require a 20% deposit to begin construction. Throughout the construction project we will send progress billings. We feel this is a fair way to invoice our customers as it allows them to see the progress and feel comfortable with the percentage they are being billed for each item.
4. Do I need permits for my project?
Generally speaking most remodel projects require a permit. Exceptions would be finish upgrades such as new carpet, paint, crown molding, etc. If you have a specific construction project in mind and would like to know if a permit will be required give us a call and we will be happy to discuss it with you.
5. What is your service area?
The majority of our work takes place in Montgomery & Bucks Counties, Philadelphia, and parts of New Jersey. Our typical work area is a 50 mile radius from our office in Horsham, PA. However, if you’ve got a project that’s out of that range, give us a call and we’ll see what we can do!
Starting a new construction project is a big task and can sometimes seem overwhelming. We understand that our customers may have a lot of questions, and that’s not a bad thing. We want our clients to feel comfortable and that they fully understand what to expect throughout the project.
