5 Benefits of Commercial Build Outs & Remodels

Are you considering renovating your commercial office space or upgrading the exterior façade of your building in the Philadelphia area? If so, you may be wondering if it’s really worth the investment. As industry experts, we’re here to help. We’ve put together a list of the top 5 benefits we have seen our clients experience from completing a commercial build out project.

Accent Wall Brightens A Room1. Increase employee morale

Having a functional and aesthetically pleasing workspace is a big deal to employees. No one wants to go to work in a dark, cramped environment all day. Keeping your building fresh and up to date will boost morale and in turn, boost productivity.

2. Improve the company image

What kind of message is the appearance of your building sending to your customers? First impressions are everything. If your offices are outdated, clients may think you don’t care, or aren’t willing to invest in yourself. A clean, updated building shows that you have pride in your company and believe in yourself.

3. Use space more effectively

You may not be optimizing your productivity if your offices aren’t set up in a user-friendly way. Don’t have enough space for additional cubicles or storage? Remodeling your space to incorporate a new design may alleviate all of these issues without forcing you to expand or move. As a design-build contractor, Souder Brothers can help you come up with a new floor plan design to help you decide your best option moving forward.

4. Add new features

If your business is growing and you’re adding additional employees, you may need to enlarge your break room or add a second set of bathrooms. If you’re already updating your space, this is a perfect time to reconfigure. Even if you don’t need the space now, but are planning on growing, taking these steps now to prepare for future growth is a smart decision so you’re not faced with a second renovation project a few years down the road.

5. Long term savings

If your building is outdated, chances are your windows and doors are not energy efficient. The same could be true for your HVAC system and your light fixtures. Upgrading to newer, more energy-efficient products can provide excellent financial benefits in the long run by saving you money on your annual heating and cooling expenses.

  1. I like how you mentioned that clients may think that we don’t care if the commercial building is outdated, in my case that would be my potential tenants. I was planning to have the office redecorated and repainted, however, there are also other factors that need to be considered. The number of tenants is also growing, so it might be a good idea to just have a new commercial building constructed. Thanks for the information.

  2. Every time I visit my sister’s office, I’m always amazed at how advanced and high-tech the place is. I had thought about how offices decide to expand in such ways, and so it was interesting when your article stated that commercial build-outs can accommodate these additional amenities that can help employees with their everyday needs. It also especially helped when you wrote how this can also allow for potential office expansion down the line, as I believe my sister has truly found a stable career that she can have for a long time. If ever I were to have my own office, I’d definitely look for a commercial build-out contractor I can coordinate with so that I can have ways to make my employees feel appreciated.

  3. I love how you said that office buildings may not be using space efficiently while a commercial contractor can give a way to help you grow. We are running out of space for more offices, though our business keeps on growing. We are looking for a solution without packing up to leave for another building. We have decided to call a commercial contractor for help in giving us better use of space through rearranging the building we are currently in.
